Research, tools, and code experiments.

ABOUT

A personal archive of policy research and code projects. It includes published reports, dashboards, codebases, and the occasional web experiment. I wrote a brief retrospective on how (and why) I built it.

I am a Research Director at the Institute for Research on Public Policy (IRPP), leading a program on workforce resilience — how communities adapt to structural shifts like decarbonization, trade shocks, and automation.

More broadly, I am interested in the craft of research itself: methodology, visualization, and the tools we build to make sense of complex systems.

RESEARCH AREAS

Workforce Transitions

How communities absorb economic shocks, from plant closures to unexpected tariff escalations. Mapping vulnerability at the census-division level.

Employment Insurance Reform

Federal EI modernization: identifying coverage gaps, stress-testing financing models, and finding the policy compromise.

Data & Design

Using interactive tools and rigorous design to communicate complex policy findings to decision-makers.

Emerging Themes

Industrial Policy · Trade Diversification · AI Workforce Implications
